Senator Ted Cruz, R-Texassaid Republicans should focus on President Biden, not his son Hunter Biden, and said the president is “the godfather.”
On the latest episode of his podcast, Verdict with Ted Cruz, the Texas Republican said his party needs to focus its investigations on President Biden and not on his embattled son.
“The focus has to be on Joe Biden, this isn’t about Hunter Biden, nor is it going after the mob and catching a low-level enforcer, or going after a drug cartel and some catching Mule who swallowed balloons full of heroin,” Cruz said.

“It’s not about the poor scoundrel who got caught. It’s about the boss,” the senator continued.
“It’s about the big guy. It’s about the godfather, Joe Biden is the godfather. He’s the one who ultimately benefits from this corruption,” Cruz said. “He is the one who abuses official authority to encourage his family members’ criminal activities. And so this is a problem of public corruption.”
Cruz said the Biden Justice Department was “desperate” to “keep this going,” citing the DOJ’s handling of Hunter’s “drug problem.”
“You know what, we wouldn’t be talking about this if it was just a deeply concerned soul,” Cruz continued. “The reason we should be talking about this, and the reason the corporate media and Democrats are desperate not to talk about it, is because there is now mounting evidence of corruption by Joe Biden himself when he was Vice President of the United States.
“And now that he’s President of the United States, to enrich himself personally and enrich his family by selling official favors to enemies, hostile foreign governments — that’s an issue of paramount importance,” he asserted.
Cruz’s comments come as Republicans prepare to take control of the House of Representatives in January, with GOP leadership promising to open multiple investigations, including the Bidens.
The White House is already defending himself against the GOP investigation, with the administration claiming Republicans have pushed “long-debunked conspiracy theories” in their allegations that Biden was involved in his son’s foreign operations.

“Rather than working with President Biden to address issues important to the American people, like lower costs, the top priority for congressional Republicans is to pursue President Biden with politically motivated attacks full of long-debunked conspiracy theories,” Ian Sams said , spokesman for the White House Office said last week.
“President Biden will not let these political attacks distract him from his focus on Americans’ priorities, and we hope that congressional Republicans will join us in addressing them rather than wasting time and resources on political vengeance ‘ added Sams.
