For the first time in the 40-year history of the Ukrainian nuclear industry, all nuclear power plants were shut down, reported Petro Kotin, President of SE “NNEGC “Energoatom”. Due to the large-scale Russian shelling of the entire territory of Ukraine on November 22, all four nuclear power plants in Ukraine were shut down. “Due to a frequency reduction in the power system due to damage to the power infrastructure, emergency protection was activated at the Rivne, South Ukraine and Khmelnytskyi NPPs. All aggregates of these power plants were automatically disconnected from the grid,” said Kotin. He also warned of the possible danger of a nuclear and radiation catastrophe caused by the shelling of the entire territory of Ukraine by Russian cruise missiles and ballistic missiles, as well as a huge risk of damage to nuclear power plants.

The Ukrainian police reported about the number of victims of yesterday’s Russian shelling. As a result of yesterday’s targeted shelling, 10 people died, including 2 children. A total of 52 people were injured, including six children. “Critical infrastructure facilities were damaged. There is no power or water supply, in some places there is no heating and no telephone reception. The Russian military continues to demonstrate to the whole world that they are terrorists,” reported the press service of the National Police of Ukraine.

A new citizen support project called “invincibility centers‘ was launched in Ukraine. In the event of a significant power outage, Ukrainian authorities have set up invincibility centers across the country where Ukrainians can get hot drinks and food, warm up, charge their phones and use the internet.

All Invincibility Centers are equipped with everything that gives people access to their basic needs: heat, water, first aid kits, electricity, cell phones and internet. According to the deputy head of the President’s Office Kyrylo Tymoshenko, 4,200 invincibility centers have been opened in all regions of Ukraine at the moment.

Ukrainian journalists released NASA Worldview satellite imagery of Ukraine after Russian shelling on November 23 and on the night of November 24. On November 23, Russia launched another massive missile attack on Ukraine. As a result, a power outage occurred in the Ukrainian power system. Millions of Ukrainians were left without electricity, heating, water and cell phones. Currently, power plant workers are doing everything they can to restore the country’s power system. Journalists compared the latest images to NASA Worldview images taken at the same time of day on February 6, 2022, before a full-scale invasion of Russia and massive rocket attacks began.

The EU is preparing its ninth package of sanctions against Russia. That’s what Ursula von der Leyen said at a press conference. “We are working hard to hit Russia where it hurts to further weaken its ability to wage war on Ukraine, and today I can announce that we are working flat out on a 9th sanctions package,” she said . The European Parliament is also calling for diplomatic relations with Russia to be reduced, EU contacts with official Russian representatives to be reduced to the absolute minimum, and Russian state-related institutions in the EU that spread propaganda around the world to be closed and banned.
