1899 is a German multilingual mystery science fiction streaming television series set in Epic Times. It is created by Jantje Friese and Baran bo Odar. Originally, the show premiered on Netflix on November 17, 2022. The series follows immigrants on a steamboat traveling from London to New York, which becomes embroiled in a mysterious conundrum after they find a second ship adrift in the open sea. Additionally, it has received mostly positive critical reviews, praising the casting, direction, cinematography, and acting, although some criticized the slow pacing.
Since the show was created by the creators of the original Netflix series entitled Dark, fans of the earlier series are now watching 1899. Following this, most show addicts had already binge-watched that new show. The fans are trying to digest everything they saw on the show and can’t wait for the second season.
Here’s what we can expect from Season 2 in our opinion.
Originally, the series played a large number of cast members in the first season. However, as we have seen, most of the ship’s passengers jumped on their feet after hearing a specific noise inside the ship. With that in mind, we can’t expect the entire cast of Season 1 to return for a Season 2. Still, for now, all we can do is recap the cast of season one.

1899 Season 2: Speculated Conspiracy
After a massive plot twist to the season one finale, fans of the show can’t wait to see what’s about to happen ahead of them. As we wrap up the Season 1 finale, Maura finally discovers the truth that all of the passengers are actually under a psychological project that is being held in space. Dubbed the “Prometheus,” the project is a twist as we now know that none of the ships are real. Henry himself is Maura’s brother, who controls the entire program.
With all of this in mind, we think it’s safe to speculate that the upcoming season of the show will likely feature the origins of each of the show’s main characters. We also expect Maura to find a way out of the program next season.
1899 Season 2 Release Date
At this time, we can’t speculate on a specific release date for Season 2 as the network hasn’t announced any further news regarding Season 2 just yet.
