Keke Palmer wants her turkey seasoned thanks

Keke Palmer will be hosting “Saturday Night Live” for the first time on December 3, along with musical guest SZA.

While the “Nope” star has been acting since childhood, “SNL,” she said, is a “unique experience” that Amy Schumer helped her prepare for.

“I’m thrilled to the moon. I can’t wait,” Palmer said in a recent interview with CNN. “I know it’s going to be so much fun. I’m really excited and looking forward to doing it. I think it will be a unique experience but also familiar territory. And then it’ll just be fun to see them do it, you know, on their side. Because I love skits.”

“Ami [Schumer] actually spoke to me about it and walked me through the whole thing,” she added.

Palmer said she views the hosting gig as some sort of “Broadway-esque” performance.

“I just want to entertain everyone and let’s have a good night,” she said.

An entertainer since childhood, Palmer knows she’s having a moment right now, but said she’s keeping her first one firmly grounded because she’s seen the ups and downs of Hollywood firsthand.

“You know, the entertainment industry is funny in that way. There will be moments in your life where everyone is just thinking about you and everything is always so exciting and then it will be chilly and then it will not be as trendy or there will be no moment,” she said. “I definitely feel like there’s a trending moment happening right now [for me] and it’s fun and it’s exciting and I just love being able to keep exploring different avenues of entertainment… No moment lasts forever.”

Palmer’s star rose even higher over the summer with the release of director Jordan Peele’s “Nope,” which he wrote with her in mind.

She said it was an “insane” call.

“Jordan is just such a talented person and someone I always wanted to work with after making ‘Key & Peele’ and seeing him evolve as a creator,” Palmer said, adding, “Then I did read the script , i love the character. I love the world of sci-fi and adventure, but then I thought, man, this character is so unique. It’s such a rare combination to be able to play as a woman. This was such a cool arc that I would get an opportunity to transition from comedy to drama.

Palmer said she hopes to work with more directors.

“There are loads of people I think I could have fun working with. I would love to work with Samuel Jackson again. I would love to work with Ron Howard and Steven Spielberg. The list goes on. I would love to work with Jordan again,” she said. “Quentin Tarantino too, he’s very punchy and everything is very extreme in terms of entertainment. It will always give you a movie and a cinematic experience.”

For now, Palmer will be happily home in Chicago with her parents for Thanksgiving. She has a current partnership with McCormick Seasoning and said she even brings the company’s 10-spice box when she travels.

“There’s no reason for me not to go to anyone’s house this holiday and not let them know how to spice up their food,” she laughed.

However, at home she will not have this problem. Palmer said her father cooks everything and she gets a break.

“I’m rested and I’ll be fine,” she said.
