Sony’s official document largely reveals the release date of the PlayStation 6

It’s only been a few years since Sony released its next-gen console, the PlayStation 5. But there’s already some teasing and speculation circulating around the internet about the release date of the next-gen PS console, PlayStation 6.

PlayStation 5 is Sony’s latest gaming console. This system enables next-generation features such as 4K visuals, 120 frames per second, variable refresh rate and ray tracing for realistic lighting and reflections.

The PS5 is a masterpiece of modern edge technology. The experience it offers goes far beyond what anyone could have imagined in recent years. But unfortunately, many players who desperately wanted to get their hands on the system couldn’t do it no matter how hard they tried.

The demand for PS5 hhardware is very high though deliver is nowhere enough to keep up with consumer demand. The two-year global pandemic has played its part, as the global crisis has made it very difficult to obtain the necessary materials to mass-produce the console.

One of the biggest dramas in the gaming world lately is that of Microsoft acquisition Deal from Activision Blizzard. Tech giant Microsoft had put forward a proposal to acquire the developers of Call of Duty, Diablo, StarCraft and other massive IPs on the market.

This proposal was sharply criticized by the market experts. Many believe this acquisition will give Xbox a huge advantage in the market, which could ruin the ecosystem. Because of this, the UK market regulator has been tight-knit investigate the proposal before giving Microsoft permission to proceed with the business.

Not only the CMA, but also the competitors have been vocal about the acquisition agreement. Microsoft’s biggest competitor in the market, Sony’s PlayStation, has criticized the proposal and has taken active steps to prevent the deal. An interesting piece of information was revealed in one of the official documents Sony filed against this deal.

Microsoft has offered to make Activision’s games available on PlayStation only until 2027… until SIE launches the next generation of its PlayStation console (which will likely be close [redacted]), it would have lost access to Call of Duty and other Activision titles, making it extremely vulnerable to consumer switching and subsequent deterioration in its competitiveness,” PlayStation presented their reasoning.

It went on to say: “Even if SIE had the ability and resources to develop a franchise as successful as Call of Duty, it would take many, many years and billions of dollars to create a Call of Duty challenger – and EA’s Battlefield example shows that any such efforts would most likely be unsuccessful.

With this piece of the document, it’s safe to say that the next of the mainline PlayStation consoles won’t be out until 2028. The potential PlayStation 6 will appear before or after the end of this decade.
