DETROIT – Happy Black Friday and have a nice weekend!
The weekend has already started for many of you, and we’ve had quite a spectacular Thanksgiving here in Metro Detroit. The overnight showers will end and continue this morning leaving some wet roads.
Temperatures fall through the 40s early this morning with a light breeze creating wind chills closer to freezing. Grab the hat and gloves this morning.
The skies will start out mostly cloudy, but we’ll get more and more sunshine as this big day of shopping and travel progresses.
Today’s sunrise is at 7:35 am
Skies over Metro Detroit are improving in the right direction, changing from partly sunny to partly cloudy to mostly sunny skies this afternoon. Our high temps will recover respectably thanks to the afternoon sun, ending in the upper 40’s nearing 50 degrees (but feeling a little cooler all day).
Winds will temporarily blow from a cooler source and move WNW at 5-15 mph, gusting 20-25 mph at times.
The weather really won’t be a problem for anyone shopping from mall to mall or traveling here to there through Pure Michigan, just keep both hands on the wheel and be safe.
Sunset is at 5:05 p.m. today
Small Business Saturday is going to be sensational here in Metro Detroit with mostly clear skies throughout the day.
The clear early morning skies see our morning temperatures drop back into the high 20’s to almost 30 degrees. With mostly sunny skies our high afternoon temperatures can warm back up to the low 50’s. A warming wind will help, moving SSW at 5-15 mph and blowing gusting to 20-25 mph.
There is another rainmaker heading our way to end the weekend, mainly overnight from Saturday to Sunday morning.
Watch out for rain showers on Sunday morning. Light and scattered showers are likely early in the morning, followed by some much needed and heavier showers from 7am to 6pm. This is the type of rain to avoid driving if you can, especially when puddles and puddles are a possibility on our freeways and back roads.
Drying out, then more rain
We will dry on Monday. Pesky clouds emerging over SE Lower Michigan and Southern Ontario will hold highs in the mid-40s.
Tuesday will be a mix of sun and clouds with highs of around 50 degrees before another chance of rain here on Wednesday. We will have warm southerly winds with temperatures in the 50s which means without the wintry mix there will be more rain.
